Fraps half screen, full screen
Using fraps when I record using fullsize the video turns out fine, but when I use half-size mode the text and everything is unreadable, what could be causing this?
If anyone had any ideas it'd be great thanks. |

"Choosing Half-size will store the movie at half the resolution of the game screen" - http://www.fraps.com/faq.php
This sums it up pretty well. When recording in half size it literally makes everything half the size of what you are seeing it at. The only way to get good text at a low resolution is to play in windowed mode at that lower resolution while recording in full-size. |

The solution that Stormrager proposes only works if you actually want to play in a box that's for example 1024x768. If you're having problems with getting normal dps on full-size then I suggest swapping to bandicam. That program allows you to record at any resolution you want to, making it easier to have decent fps and recording (I have no lag issues on 1600x900) Last edited by Ian Fleming : 04-25-2011 at 02:22 PM. |

Disabling sound recording from fraps helps boost the performance.
Having a second HDD where the data goes boosts the performance of fraps greatly. Using SSD & and no sound recording i'm completely fine with full HD resolution recording. |
