Achieving best quality encoding
Hey,
I read Thiras' article but it is for Vegas. I use VirtualDub just to encode my Fraps capture and the only thing I change is music where I use an external wav file during encoding. I'm looking for best options to encode a 1680x1050 fraps capture to same resolution without exceeding WarcraftMovies' 25mb/min limit. Ive done with 3300bitrate DivX but it is not the quality I want. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks. |

The xvid option window is consistent between different apps, so it would be pretty much the same in virtualdub and vegas.
You can go up to 4000-5000 for the video as long as the audio is properly compressed (128 is usually ok). The 25 mb/minute rule was decided on when nobody could record high res videos so it's sort of ignored nowadays. |

Thanks, I figured out most of XviD but I couldn't find where I set the bitrate.

Oh I see. It's disabled in Twopass - 1st pass and enabled in 2nd pass.
Thanks! |
