Movie Making (confused what software to use?)
Hi guys
This thread is mainly to all those gamers out there, that are new or have just begun exploring the world of in-game movie making. It's for people who find find it difficult to use and understand programs like Adobe premier or Sony Vegas. I read a lot of threads in forums concerning Adobe Premier and Sony Vegas. Most of the threads are about "problems". I have never used Sony Vegas but I have heard great things about it. I have Adobe Premier on the other hand and to be honest, it "sucks" if you use these kind of in-game recordings.....and it is time consuming as h..... Concerning Adobe Premier you need to preset a template in order to force Adobe to display previews correctly in preview. In many cases you won't succeed and you are forced to render every single clip before you can get creative. You could say that Adobe Premier is too De-luxe and delicat as in high-end, to be fooling around with "crap" quality recordings like Gamecam, that if smartcapture is on, already is compressed It is durable to use Adobe Premier, but difficult, time consuming and you really need to know what your doing That leads me to this.........! If your ambition level and skill level is not that high and you just want to make some cool fx. PVP movies in WOW and your too creative as in impatient, to be waiting over night, for the clips to be rendered, before you can even start putting a movie together..... I recommend: Windows Movie Maker (WMM) Movie maker is a lot more flexible than most people know and all the basic features are available. Should you try to discover WMM a bit more you will find out, that it also contains a lot of advanced features. The great thing about WMM is that, all your recording can be played from preview line. This means you don't need knowledge about stuff like "Editing mode" "Timebase" "Pixel Aspect Ratio Square pixels 1.0" etc. Above that you don't need to pre-render all your recordings. It basicly means, that the minute your recording are in WMM you can begin working on your movie. Only when your done it will render it all together. (Time saver and a life saver for the impatient creative mind haha Less talk more show I always say, which is why I, down below, will link some videos, that I have made in WMM. Just to show, that it is possible to make cool videos with WMM, as long as you keep it simple. "You don't need a Space Shuttle, in order to go from one country to another. I would be fun no doubt, and you would get there faster and more stylish, but less can do it just as fine " The Assasin's Creed Project http://www.gametrailers.com/player/u...es/201033.html WOW Cinematic (The remake) http://www.gametrailers.com/player/u...ies/99821.html The Halo Project http://www.gametrailers.com/player/u...es/199401.html Starcraft 2 Cinematic (Remake) http://www.gametrailers.com/player/u...ies/75383.html 300 Trailer (The battle) http://www.gametrailers.com/player/u...ies/76051.html The Comedy Project http://www.gametrailers.com/player/u...es/199412.html WOW related movies: Suck on my Lollipop! meets WOW http://www.gametrailers.com/player/u...es/111023.html WoW Agressive dueling (latest wow video re-edited version) http://www.gametrailers.com/player/u...es/203766.html Hope you found the thread informative Best regard Fenni Last edited by TheRealFenni : 04-20-2008 at 11:32 AM. Render
Hi Kimpan 88
Once your done with your movie you click on "File" and then "Save movie" Then take "Other settings" and save your movie in: ("Video for local playback 2.1 Mbs) It's the one most true to you clipping in regards to splitting, FPS etc. Once your file is saved you can use programs like: Dr. Divx Converter. I only use it if a site like the old "Stage6" requires it. But most sites with respect for themselves take WMV. movies |

Hi there
Per default WMM can't do that, but there are loads of add-ons out there and i heard rumors about Microsoft boosting WMM soon. Customizing it to game play movie makers etc. Here are some links: http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Tutorials/AddOns.aspx These dudes also make effects to adobe premier: http://www.pixelan.com/mm/intro.htm Pixilan got shitloads of stuff... Ghosting etc. And last..... just finished a pvp wow movie... Tjeck it out http://www.gametrailers.com/player/u...es/213725.html Last edited by TheRealFenni : 05-08-2008 at 05:16 PM. |
